Yikes- This solution may actually get somewhere for one reason- it’s simple. However have you noticed how many other special interests have been trying to add on to sale tax for other things like transportation?
The real problem here is as stated in the Sun Sentinel- low income families will pay a disproportionate share of income in taxes. I think we’ll also see an increasing leap in online sales to avoid sales tax altogether.
