With the movie coming out this week, there’s no better time than to read this book if you have kids. I like to know what my kids are reading, and fortunately these are entertaining in the same way that Harry Potter books were. The plots and characters have nothing in common with the Potter series, it’s just the authors catapulting to the spotlight so quickly that is being compared in the media.
I’d categorize them as fantasy-romance, with non-traditional Vampires and high school teens as the stars. The girls seem to be much more interested in reading the series than the boys 🙂 These books may be inappropriate for kids under 12 due to the romantic aspect.
I’m not going to spoil any details by telling you what happens. Let’s just say I was very concerned where the book was leading to when I started reading, but those concerns were disappeared. (There are 4 books in the series so far.) I have a teenager and these books are OK with me.
